Mrs Caroline Nightingale - Member & Trustee

Caroline has over 30years experience in the NHS having started her career as a Biomedical Scientist, progressing through to managing Education and Training for the non-medical workforce at local level, to her current role in Leadership and OD at a regional level. Caroline brings with her a wealth of skills and experience from business, finance and project management, governance and education training delivery and management, through to strategic planning, critical thinking, facilitation and stakeholder engagement. Caroline is an experienced Governor, having been a Governor, Vice-Chair and Chair in schools in Wolverhampton for nearly 20years. Caroline is passionate about education and supporting the children across our academy to SHINE and ensure that they receive high quality education throughout their primary years.

Miss Caroline Coultham - Member

Caroline has worked in commercial trading and supply chain roles across a number of national retailers since 2005 and has been employed at Weetabix since 2023 leading their customer demand and supply team. Weetabix are charity partners of Grocery Aid, FareShare and Magic Breakfast, fuel for learning, supporting their mission to ensure that no child is too hungry to learn.  Caroline has extensive experience in leadership, budget management and a wide range of transferrable skills.  Caroline joined SHINE Academies in December 2018 as she believed in the vision and direction of the Trust and is committed to ensuring the children within each school receive the very best start.

Mr Gavin Hawkins - Member

Prior to co-founding my own company in 2018; specialising in educational technology, online safety and school improvement, Gavin worked In Wolverhampton schools for 18 years as a teacher, subject specialist and senior leader.

In 2008 Gavin was seconded to the Local Authority to support schools in their adoption and implementation of education technologies and became Head of the Learning Technologies Team in 2011. During his career, Gavin has worked with many schools, both in the UK and internationally, which has provided him with valuable insights into leadership and management styles, teaching and learning, curriculum design and assessment. Gavin have had the opportunity to work with the UK Department of Education and the Governments of Wales, Australia, and Kuwait to design curriculum opportunities and professional development for teachers. Gavin has an MA in Education, hold the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers and am a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Gavin is a Trust Board Member of a local Academy Trust and a Co-opted governor of a Wolverhampton maintained school.

Ms Emma Richards - Member

Emma works as a HR Director with extensive expertise in both strategic and operational roles within private, public and third sectors, in single and multi-site operations with local and global employers.  However, most notably, Emma has worked within the Education arena for over 14 years, leading on some of the very first Academisations in the Country and supporting schools and academies on a range of HR challenges.  Although a true generalist, Emma's niche area is Employment Law and Change Management, particularly regarded for her insight into TUPE.

 

Emma has 2 children, enjoys football and is a huge Spurs fan.  Emma also works as a Welfare Officer for her sons Sunday league football club and has been known to assist in training too!  Emma has a passion for art, even selling some bespoke work, and she also loves a good hike both locally and further afield.

Mrs Rebecca Young - Member

Rebecca Young.png

Rebecca has had an extensive career in commercial retail, currently working for HHGL, retailing as Homebase, as a Senior Marketing Campaign and Brand Manager. Rebecca has vast experience of delivering key brand messaging and managing household brand names. She is the parent to two children in senior and primary education and is committed to ensuring that all children achieve their potential and have high aspirations.
